Before bedtime, make sure to unplug this one kitchen appliance, it could prevent a potential fire!

In today’s kitchens, air fryers and toaster ovens have become popular for their speed, convenience, and versatility.

But despite their everyday use, these compact appliances are among the most commonly overlooked fire hazards. At first glance, they seem harmless—small, efficient, and easy to use. However, when left plugged in overnight or unattended, they can become a serious safety risk.

Many people don’t realize that even when switched off, these appliances continue to draw power if they’re still plugged into the outlet. Over time, especially in budget-friendly models, internal components can degrade. These worn-down parts increase the risk of short circuits or overheating—sometimes without any warning signs.

The danger escalates if your kitchen has older electrical outlets, improper grounding, or you experience a power surge while asleep. Additionally, a hidden defect or unnoticed internal damage can turn an otherwise safe device into a potential ignition source.

To make matters worse, air fryers and toaster ovens are often located close to flammable items like paper towels, wooden cabinetry, or curtains. One spark or burst of heat in the wrong moment can lead to disaster.

To stay safe, always unplug these appliances when not in use—and never leave them on overnight.
